Anola, I finally poked my nose above the water and googled you. I am thrilled to see what I imaagined was true at 4 this morning; i.e that you are famous, and famous for your writing. I have been telling people about: “The congestion ahead is prevalent. Upon clearing we will be forthcoming.” for years. Can’t wait to get together with you and peter and maybe even your journalist son one of these days. I am moving to decatur, IL this summer after 8 years rebuilding yet another school. my book, the genius in children will be buyable on my website rickackerly.com next week. I will now go find all your books. Best to Peter.

“You have the best chance of writing poems that appeal to children if you are not so much writing for children as writing from the child in you . . . writing not so much what you think kids should be interested in but in what interested you as a child and still interests the child within.” — Eileen Spinelli
