Congratulations to Anola Pickett! Anola won MOSCBWI’s fall conference scholarship contest for her story KATE’S OCEAN GARDEN. The conference theme is Seeds of Success. Anola also received word that THE PRIVATE WARS OF G. P. CALLAHAN has been awarded a letter of merit in SCBWI’s 2014 Work-in-Progress grant competition.

McCormick Takes Top Prize

Congratulations to Lisa McCormick who won first place honors in the 2009 Missouri Writer’s Guild Contest for Best Juvenile Short Work. Her story, “The Gift of Giving,” appeared in Dogs for Kids magazine and featured kids who asked their families and friends to make donations to animal organizations instead of giving them presents for the special events in their lives. Great work, Lisa!
